Easter

Is it too early to start thinking of Easter? What do you think? In Florida the flowers are blooming, the pollen is definitely in the air, which makes us feel like Spring is in the air and Easter is around the corner. For those who are still being hit by snow storms, it probably feels like Easter is a pipe dream. Either way, I hope you like this project. If you leave in the warm climate, start planning. If you live where it is still cold, use this idea to start dreaming of Spring. 

One of the good things about a card like this is that you can always change the sentiment phrase and use it for another occasion, like a birthday for instance.

Here is the list of material and directions you will need.

Brown cardstock for card

Embossed pink cardstock smaller than the brown paper.

Glue the ends of a brown see-through ribbon to the back of the pink paper, then paste the paper on the brown card. Add a bow to the ribbon.

Add a pink embellishment pearl to the bow.

Die-cut a butterfly from the brown paper and another one from a darker pink paper. Add glitter to the body or make the body out of a glittered cardstock. Glue the pink butterfly on top of the brown one. Using 3D glue dots, paste the butterfly to the embossed paper and fold up the wings of the top one.

The reason why we celebrate Easter.

Finish your card stamping a sentiment phrase on the front. Use dark brown ink. You can also use embossing ink, brown glitter and emboss it with a heating tool.

Lego Birthday Card

After looking at the pictures of the Lego themed party, I had an idea for a Birthday card. So I decided to make it and post here for you. I hope you'll make it some day. 

Here are the directions and list of material you will need

White card

Emboss a green piece of paper with Paper Studios  polka-dots embossing folder to make the paper look like a Lego board.

Glue the ends of red and white twine to the back of the green paper. Then using three small pieces tie a knot like shown.

Glue a "Lego man" sticker on the knot( I cut this one out of a Lego box and pasted a gift sticker on it.). Add a sentiment phrase. I used the Lego font . To download it for free click here .   Adhere everything to the card.

The detail inside is a cute Lego man sticker.

What child doesn't like Lego? So even if you are not planning to have a Lego themed party, you can still make this card for a boy, or change the Lego men stickers for one from Lego friends and make it for a girl. I promise it will  be a success.

Lego Birthday Party

Our son loves Legos, so I decided to make a Lego themed party for his 7th birthday. It was fun making everything at home. So here are some ideas and where you can find free printables and everything else.

Wrap juice boxes with red, green, yellow and blue - Lego colors - paper. Using 3D glue dots, paste the 1 1/2 inch circles on them. They will look like Lego blocks.  To download the official Lego font click here

For the straws toppers click here

Wrap a box with strips of red, green, yellow and blue paper to hold the straws.

Save this picture in your computer to print the cupcake toppers. Use a 2" puncher to cut them.

I used a silicone mold to make the Lego man with colored chocolate. You can find the mold on Ebay, Amazon or Lego stores

For the banner I used the Lego font size 500, made a yellow line around each letter, and glued them to red cardstock.

For the party favors I bought small gift bags, punched 1 1/2" circles from paper with the same color as the bags and glued them on the bags using 3D glue dots. I also made tags for the bags with the guests names on them using the Lego font. You can find some cool things to use as party favors at Lego.com

If your party has to be indoors, create games like this one. Draw a hopscotch on a long piece of white paper. Draw some lego men on it too.
