Grandma

We have been making cards for Mothers because of Mother's Day. But yesterday I decided to make a card to honor grandmothers.  After all they don't retire from being moms when they become grandmas, do they? 

Card 'recipe'

Paper: light blue, maroon and white cardstock (Paper Studio)

Tools: cutting/embossing machine (Bigkick)and Polka Dot embossing folder (Darice)

Embellishments: Light blue satin ribbon (the Ribbon Boutique), 'Grandma'  and flower 3D stickers (K&Company), Owls 3D stickers (Paper Studio), and brown buttons.

Quilling

A few months ago a friend of mine posted a beautiful art work on my Facebook timeline, and I didn't know what that was. She, then, informed me that it was quilling. I started to learn how to do it as soon as I could. Of course I still have a lot to learn, but I decided to make a card using this technique. So here is my very first quilling card.

 I used blue and white cardstock paper for the card, quilling tool and paper, colored pencils and glue.

Traditional

My most recent card was very different. Some would call it 'non-traditional'. So today I'm posting a card that has a very clean and 'traditional' look. Enjoy!

Paper: white cardstock (Paper Studio), pink cardstock (Recollections)
Stamp: cherry blossom (Stampabilities),  Happy Mother's Day(Stamping Up)
Ink: black marker for stamps (Recollections), black pigment (Stampabilities)
Tools: Embossing/ cutting machine (Bigkick), colored pencils, Floral ovals and Classic ovals dies (Nestabilities), Twirls embossing folder (Paper Studios)
Embellishments: Baby pink ribbon, pink pearls and flower pin (Recollections)

Vintage Book Page

Those who know me, know that I am all about recycling. We have learned how to use dryer sheets on cards and fabric to wrap gifts. Today I'm posting a card that I made using an old book page. Please don't ruin any books. Your local library will have pages that were torn from a book they can't find, and they will give them to you. You can use an old newspapers page too. There are several websites that will teach you how to stamp on them. Enjoy.

 Card 'recipe'
Paper: red and black cardstock, old book page
Tools: Cutting/ embossing machine (Bigkick), corner punch, computer and printer, precision scissors and adhesive.
Stamps: clear flowers
Ink: red
Embellishments: vanilla and red ribbons, black lace, black die-cut and white oval die-cut (Framelits), red gemstones and red 3-D roses stickers.

Another idea for this card is to change the roses sticker for a graduation cap or a diploma, change the sentiment phrase for a 'Congratulations', and print a graduation message inside. Voila!!! You have a graduation card now.
