Thankful

Today is my birthday, and I've been mentally making a "list" of what I'm thankful for. Well, the list is too long. God has blessed me in so many ways, not only in the past year, but throughout my whole life. He has given me all the reasons to be thankful, and my 55th birthday is just one of them. So, to celebrate with gratitude, I'm posting a 'THANK YOU' card with envelope, but of course you can make this card for pretty much any occasion.
 Material used:
Tools: Cricut Explore AirSizzix Bigshot cutting/ embossing machine, tag die (Avery Elle Beautiful Bow set)
Paper: Antique rose, white cardstock
Stamp: Thanks a million (Fiskars "Many Thanks" set)
Ink: black
Embellishment: Green bow
 Envelope material used:
Tools: Envelope punch board (We R Memory Keepers), heat gun
Stamp: bow, "enjoy",  and mini tag ( Avery Elle Beautiful Bow set)
Ink: Versamark clear, green embossing powder

I like to do something special on my envelopes too, and I love this bow stamp to decorate the envelopes.

Mrs. Claus in July Dress Card with Free Template

Hi there. Last week I had a baby shower to attend, and I made a little dress card to go with the gift. I liked that so much, that I decided to make a Mrs. Claus dress card for the Christmas in July series. So I created a template and made, not one, but three cards. And today I'm sharing them and the template with you, just to thank you for stopping by.
As you can see the style is the same, I just changed the apron a little bit.
Supplies used
Paper: White and red cardstock
Tools: cutting/embossing machine, polka-dots, and falling snow embossing folders, crochet hook size G (4.25mm), 1.5" circle punch, snowflakes border punch
Embellishments: fuzzy yarn, poinsettias stickers, red glitter glue, white ribbon and bow, self-adhesive pearls

Here is the template. Just right click on the image and save in your computer. Then choose the size you want, and print on a cardboard. To make the red front of the dress, print a second image on red cardstock and cut in half.
Here is another dress card made with the same template. This time without the apron.
Thank you so much for visiting my blog. I hope you check out my shop on etsy.com too. God bless you, and have fun crafting.

Beautiful Card for Mothers Day (Too)

Hi, how are you doing? How are you going to celebrate Mothers' Day this year? This is a bitter-sweet occasion for me. Sweet because I can celebrate the blessing that is to be a mother, bitter because I'm so far away from my Mom. Anyway, I made this card for my sister's birthday, but I thought it would make a good card for Mothers' Day too. I decided to post it today, so you will have plenty of time to make it.
What you will need:
Paper: Peach pink, white, and leaf green cardstock
Tools: cutting/embossing machine, embossing and stamp set (Textured Impressions), leaf punch, peach pink, baby pink, and green markers (I used water based markers)
Embellishments: Sentiment stamp, pink bow, vintage 'brooch' brad, butterfly sticker
Here you can see better how the embossing folder makes the stamped flowers pop.

Thank you for stopping by. Make something special for your Mom, grandma, aunt... and have a very blessed Mothers' Day.

Picture Frame Mother's Day Card

I was thinking about something special I want to do for my Mom for Mother's Day. Besides the gift I'm going to make for her, this card idea came to me in the middle of the night. Yep, that happens a lot. I wake up and start having ideas for cards and gifts. Weird? Maybe. Some would call it inspiration... Who knows? Hahaha.

As you can see the center doesn't have anything but the transparency. That's because the top of the oval frame is open, so you can insert a picture or a message as seen in the pictures below.

My Mother and me
Supplies Needed:
Paper: light green, light pink and white cardstock
Tools: cutting/embossing machine, polka-dots embossing folder (Cuttlebug), decorative oval die (Spellbinder), transparency
Stamp: rose bushes, Happy Mothers Day (Stampabillities)
Embellishments: paper roses, fabric ribbon, self-stick pearls

You can insert a picture of you and your Mom, or you and your siblings. You can even put a picture of your children, and make this card for Grandma. The possibilities are endless.

Thank you for stopping by. Have a wonderfully blessed Mother's Day

Butterfly for Tea Bags

I saw this idea online and fell in love with it, so I decided to put my head and hands to work and figure out how to make it. Here it is, or I should say, here they are because I made more than one.

It's a little butterfly attached to the string of the tea bag. Isn't it cute? You can find them in my Etsy store

Paper: cardstock
Tools: cutting/embossing machine, butterfly die, precision scissors, hole punch, glue and coloring pens.
They are delicate and add a touch of decor to your cup.
You can give them as a gift (they come in sets of 8 unless custom ordered differently), use for different occasions or just for some tea with friends.

Thank you for visiting my blog. Enjoy a good cup of tea, relax and craft for fun. May God bless you and yours.

Card With Velum Flowers

My mother is turning 90 next month, and I wanted to make a very special card for her. So when I saw this technique that is used to make flowers out of velum paper,  I knew this was what I wanted to use on her card. Here it is.
The word 'Feliz' means happy in Portuguese
Supplies needed for this card
Paper: Pink, leaf green and white cardstock, clear velum paper
Tools: cutting/ embossing machine, lace border embossing folder, precision scissors, embossing heat tool, embossing powder (I used white and peach), fine point gel pens (pink and leaf green), round corner punch, 3D very small foam mounting circles
Stamp: flowers (I used the rose with a bud)
Ink: Embossing tinted stamp pad, yellow stamp marker)
Embellishment: Leaf green ribbon and bow with white 'sewing' lines, small black glittered letters, numbers and flowers, tiny pearls,

To make the velum flowers, stamp your flowers on velum paper using embossing tinted (mine is a very light pink) ink. Sprinkle with embossing powder covering the flowers completely (I used white powder for my pink rose, and peach powder for my yellow rose). Turn the velum paper up side down over your powder saver, or a white sheet of paper, to get rid of the excess powder. Using an embossing heat tool, dry the powder very well.
Using a fine point gel pen, color your flower gently making sure you don't color the embossing powder. If you want, you can use only the stamp marker. I like to use the gel pen first for a sparkling effect. Cut the flowers carefully with a precision pair of scissors. Use the foam mounting circles to adhere the flower to your card. A white background will accent the velum better.

There you have it. Beautiful velum flowers that can also be used on a card for Mother's Day.

Thank you for stopping by. Have a blessed crafting time.

The word espresso means express or coffee pressed out. This card has that word as its title because of its colors, but also because I could only post it now. One hour before the card drawing. Whew!

Safari

Two of my favorite places here in America are Cades Cove (Smoky Mountains, TN) and Circle B Bar Reserve (Lakeland, FL). The reason why I like these two places so much is the wild life present there. If I could, I would visit North Africa  just to see lions, tigers, giraffes and other animals running free. Or just to watch them in a tender moment with their babies. Can you imagine how amazing it would be to watch a ferocious animal like a lioness as a caring mother nurturing her cub? Or a tall animal like the giraffe feeding her youngster? While some of us can only imagine or see that in a Zoo - which is definitely not the same - we can get inspired by God's wonderful creation and create something ourselves. So here is the card I made with my dream of Africa in mind.

 Card Recipe
Paper: light green, brown and cream cardstock (Paper Studio)
Tools: cutting/embossing machine, scallop and oval dies,  and embossing folder (Sizzix), border punch (Fiskars)
Embellishments: giraffe, letters and dots stickers, plaid ribbon, brown pearls, clear gemstones.

Thank you so much for visiting my blog. May the Lord bless you abundantly.

Elegance

When my Mother was young, she was very elegant. Always well dressed and wearing high heels. She can't wear high heels any longer, but she sure knows how to be elegant when she chooses too. I guess it's 'in her blood'. On May 11th she will turn 89, and I can hardly wait to spend  her birthday and Mothers Day with her. So I made this card inspired by the elegance of her youth, and the excitement of being with her this year. Enjoy!

Supplies Used:
Card stock: Dark red
Tools: Delicate punch
Accessories -  Blossoms Bunch,'Mother' and French border stickers

Thank you for stopping by, and many blessings to you and yours.
