Gift Bag

A couple of months ago we learned how to make a box. Today we are going to make a gift bag.

Handle and bow made with the same ribbon
 Gift Bag Tutorial
Take a 12” x 12” sheet of paper and cut to 9” x 12”
Score at 5” and 7”
Turn the paper and score the bottom at 2”
Crease the lines to fold, and cut on the other lines as shown on template
Cut the 3” x 12” strip to 3” x 9”. Score at ½” and 2 ½”
Turn the paper and score the bottom at 2”
Trim away the outer ½” pieces
Use runner adhesive to adhere the side panel (3”x 9” strip) to the main piece, one side at a time.
Fold the flaps at the base and paste them. Score top flap at ¼” and 1 and fold over the bag
Punch holes through the top of the bag, including the  flap.
Put eyelets to make the handle support stronger and for a better finishing.
Decorate your bag as you please.

Adhesive on side strip
The side will look like this

Top flap

Eyelets

Handles, lace and a pin to decorate.
Now you know how to make a box and a bag. To make a bigger bag just use a bigger piece of paper and change the measurement proportionally.
Happy gift giving!

Purple

I can't believe Easter is almost here. Time goes by so fast, doesn't it? I'm not complaining because I start my countdown to Christmas on December 26 ( Do I need to say it is my favorite time of the year? -smile). So, anyway, here is my last Easter card for this year. Don't worry, I'm not going to start posting Christmas cards yet. Well, maybe in July. (wink and smile)

Paper: dark and light purple, and white cardstock (Paper Studio)
Tools: embossing/cutting machine, glue runner, scissors, ruler, craft knife and self-healing mat.
Stamp: Happy Easter (Stampabillities)
Embellishments: green ribbon, pearls, die-cut purple flowers, green gemstones, leaves and flowers stickers.
Extras: computer and printer

Inside
You still have time to make an Easter Card for someone.
Happy Easter!

Under the Weather

Today I'm posting a card I made for a very dear friend of mine. She is that kind of person that always puts a smile on my face. She shines everywhere she goes because she has God's love in her heart, and that shows. So, when she was feeling under the weather, I thought it was my turn to put a smile on her face.  Here is the card.
Paper: Blue, red and white cardstock
Tools: Die cutting machine, precision scissors, glue and colored pencil
Embellishments: light blue ribbon and bow, die-cut umbrella and blue gemstones.
Extras: computer and printer.

Inside
I hope you will encourage someone today, and that your day will be wonderfully blessed.

Gift card holder

Finding the right gift for that special person isn't always easy, so we buy a gift card for their favorite store, restaurant, etc. But who said gift cards have to be placed in those boring envelopes or little boxes we find in stores? We can make the gift card experience more exciting by making a customized holder. Here is one for the ladies.

In this picture you can see how deep the gift card will be into the 'dress'.

Below you will find a template I made for you. Just right click on the picture to save it in your computer. Print it as many times as you need it.

There you go, now you have a customized gift holder that will be treasured.

Flowerpot 2 - gift

Last night, when my husband saw the two flowerpot cards I had made, he made a very good suggestion. He asked me to add a note pad in one of them. The possibilities are endless, but I decided to use two small sticky note pads to make it more delicate. Here is the card that became a little gift.

The flowers were cut in my Sizzix Big Kick. The die is from Sizzix as well.

Now you have a small gift instead of a card, or a card-gift. You can use one bigger note pad instead of two small. You can also glue a strip of magnet in the back and place your note pad on the refrigerator door.
Are you going to make an Easter basket for a girl? How about putting one like this in it? You can also use it as a party favor for a spring birthday party. Like I said, the possibilities are endless. Have fun making it.

Flowerpot

One of my cousins suggested that I made a flowerpot card. So, Alessandra, here it is. I hope you like it.

Paper: double sided polka-dots and pink, and white cardstock.
Tools: Flowerpot template, craft knife, dot runner adhesive, glue pen and a paper creaser.
Accessories: ribbon, flower stickers, gemstones

This time I didn't write any message or sentiment inside the card. It can be used for Easter, a birthday, a new home, a bride shower...

Here is the template. Just right click on the picture, save it in your computer and print it.

Another idea for the flowers it to die-cut your own and use buttons for the middle.

I enjoyed making this card so much that I already made a second one with different pattern and flowers.  Have fun making one too... or more.
