Easter With a Dryer Sheet

We learned how to use a dryer sheet for a nice effect on my post on Feb. 16.  Now we are going to use it on an Easter card. Take a look:

Paper: blue, black and white cardstock
Tools: Black pen, computer, printer and internet.
Accessories: Dryer sheet (the more used the better), gold fine glitter, black pearls, spray adhesive.

I printed the tomb from a website that has free coloring pages for children.

The gold glitter reminds me of a beautiful, sunny day. Like the day our Savior rose from the dead. What a glorious day!!!

Happy Easter!

Lilly of the Valley

Today, as I was looking for a gift for my 18-month-old nephew, I went through a lot of toddlers' clothes. There is something about those tiny little clothes that just make us go "awww", isn't there? Maybe because they are so delicate like the babies themselves. So, when I got home, I decided to make a card that would be more on the delicate side. Here it is.

Paper: light green, white and pink cardstock (Paper Studios)
Tools: Stripes embossing folder (Paper Studio), border punch (Martha Stuart)
Accessories: Lilies stickers (Jolee's), pink pearls (Recollections), plaid ribbon
Extras: computer and printer

This Easter celebrate the Lily of the Valley, Jesus Christ that is.

Lamb of God

Needless to say that I love my son. He brings so much joy to the life of those who know him. So I decided to make an Easter card for him, and post it here. Make one (or more) for your child (or children) too. :)

Paper: light green, blue, dark green, white and black cardstock
Accessories: Clouds embossing folder (Darice), medium circle scalloped punch, small oval scalloped punch, small oval punch, 1/8 and 1/16 circle punches for the eyes, white and dark green coloring pencil, precision scissors, sticker for detail.
Extras: Computer and printer

Tip
Do the egg hunt using plastic eggs with one-sentence-message telling your children how much God loves them. At the end of the "hunting" have a basket for the kids with a couple of toys, a card and a golden egg with a verse about heaven. If you do candies, put a couple in the basket too. Wrap the basket with cellophane and all the trims to make the kids know how special they are. Be creative and very personal. After all no one knows your family more than you do. Then have one extra basket with empty plastic eggs (one for each child). Each one of them will secretly write their own message to Jesus thanking Him for dying on the cross and for something else they want to thank HIM. Let them place their messages in the eggs and place the eggs in the basket. They can help you wrap it too.  At the end of the day or after your Easter meal, get that basket, open it, and each child will read out loud the message they wrote to Jesus. That will be a wonderful family time and opportunity for the older children "teach" the younger ones about God's love for them.
Happy Easter

Inspired

It is always nice to meet new people and interact with them. I often learn something from such experiences. Today, at my favorite craft store, I met a lady who makes vintage jewelry. We had a good chat, exchanged ideas, laughed like we had known each other for a long time. What a precious time. So I came home more inspired than ever to make my cards, and here is one of them.
The pictures below will show you what you will need to make this card.

Green cardstock to make the card. Emboss the front.
A piece of  dark pink cardstock. Notice I rounded the corners.
A piece of off-white cardstock.

Use a brown coloring pencil and scissors to distress the vanilla cardstock.

                                It should look like this

Stamp the flowers and the sentiment phrase on it.

Make a bow with natural twine.

Adhere everything to the card. Add a flower and a pearl to the bow.

Add a detail and a message inside.
I hope you enjoy making a card like this one as much as I did. Thank you for checking out my blog.

The Reason

This is the reason why my family and I celebrate Easter. I hope you do too because without a personal relationship with the Son of God there is no hope for the future. He is alive! He cares for you and me A WHOLE LOT!

You can  emboss the card itself.

Printed message and stamped flowers inside.

There is no greater love.
Celebrate Easter because Jesus died for you on the cross, but He defeated death and is alive and well. He loves you more than words can say.
Happy Easter

A Girly Easter

What am I going to wear on Easter Sunday? Have you ever asked that question? Yep. We all have, haven't we? And we have also rushed to a store to buy a new outfit, preferably a new dress that reminds us that it's Spring. How about "dressing" a card for Easter?
This is another card you can use for different occasions.

You will need a white card, pink paper, and green polka-dots paper. You will also need to  emboss the pink paper.

You can save this pictures in your computer to print them as a pattern for the dress.

Then use the pattern on the polka-dots paper.
Adhere the self-adhesive lace behind the polka-dots paper before you fold it. Accordion fold the skirt to one side first, then to the other.
Tape the top to the skirt. Add a ribbon and a bow with a pearl.

                                   Add the detail inside

Add embellishments and a
sentiment phrase at the bottom.

And you have your card "dressed" for Easter Sunday, and ready to go to a special lady.

A Victorian-Style Easter

The other day, when I got back home from a craft store, my husband took a look at two sheets of the paper I had bought and told me they had Victorian style colors. That gave me the idea to create this card. Let me know what you think about it.

Like we usually do, here are the pictures showing how to make this card.
First make a white card.

You will need white, light pink, dark pink and flower patterned  cardstock paper.

Self stick pink lace as seen on the left. You can use a darker shade of pink if you prefer.

Adhere the dark pink and the patterned paper to the light pink one. Adhere the ribbon where the two pieces of paper meet.

Add another piece of lace - this time up-side-down - and a green strip of twine in the middle. Add the embellishments and sentiment phrase.

Add the detail inside

A message is a good idea too.

Now you have a kind of Victorian Easter card to give to someone you love.
